SSC CHSL 2024

CHSL is a combined higher secondary (10+2) level examination. There are approximately 1600 vacancies available for the following posts:

  • Data Entry Operator
  • Lower Division Clerk
  • Junior Secretarial assistant

SALARY OF CHSL JOBS

  • Data Entry Operator (25500 – 92300)
  • Lower Division Clerk and Junior Secretarial assistant (19900 – 63200)

Eligibility criteria

1. For Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’ in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG), Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Ministry of Culture:

  • Educational Qualification: 12th Standard pass in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized board or equivalent.

2. For LDC/JSA and DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ 

  • Educational Qualification: Passed Class 12th.

3. Nationality

  • Candidates from India, Nepal, or Bhutan are eligible for CHSL 2024.

  • Aadhar card or any other valid ID
  • Passport size photograph
  • Class 12th grade certificate
  • Category certificate(if applicable)

Application Process

  • Apply for registration through the official website.
  • For new candidates, click on New User. Register now and fill out the basic personal details.
  • For already-registered candidates, log in using their registration number and registration password.
  • Click on Apply and find the CHSL 2024 Exam registration form.
  • Follow the instructions carefully, and submit the registration form successfully.

Application fee

  • Zero fees for female candidates, Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PWD, and ex-servicemen.
  • 100 Rs. fee for other candidates.

Exam Pattern

For Tier 1

  1. English Language (Basic Knowledge):
    • Number of Questions/Maximum Marks: 25 questions for a total of 50 marks
  2. General Intelligence:
    • Number of Questions/Maximum Marks: 25 questions for a total of 50 marks
  3. Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill):
    • Number of Questions/Maximum Marks: 25 questions for a total of 50 marks
  4. General Awareness:
    • Number of Questions/Maximum Marks: 25 questions for a total of 50 marks

Overall Time Duration for Tier I (For all four Parts):

  • Time Duration: 60 minutes

 

For Tier 2

  • Section-I: 1 hour 
  • Module-I: Mathematical Abilities
    • Number of Questions: 30
    • Maximum Marks: 30 * 3 = 90
  • Module-II: Reasoning and General Intelligence
    • Number of Questions: 30
    • Maximum Marks: 30 * 3 = 90

Section-II: 1 hour

  • Module-I: English Language and Comprehension
    • Number of Questions: 40
    • Maximum Marks: 40 * 3 = 120
  • Module-II: General Awareness
    • Number of Questions: 20
    • Maximum Marks: 20 * 3 = 60

Section-III: 15 minutes

  • Module-I: Computer Knowledge Module
    • Number of Questions: 15
    • Maximum Marks: 15 * 3 = 45
  • Module-II: Skill Test/Typing Test Module
    • Part A: Skill Test for DEOs in the Department/Ministry.
      • Duration: 15 Minutes
    • Part B: Skill Test for DEOs except in Department/Ministry
      • Duration: 15 Minutes
    • Part C: Typing Test for LDC/JSA
      • Duration: 10 Minutes

Selection Process

  • The minimum required marks for the Tier 1 CHSL  examination will be as follows for unreserved candidates: 30 %, OBC or EWs Candidates: 25%, and All Other Candidates: 20%
  • Based on how well they performed in the Tier-I examination, candidates will be shortlisted for the Tier-II examination.
  • Certain posts can have distinct category-wise cut-offs in Tier I and Tier 2.
  • A Tier II examination will be held for every candidate who meets the requirements for Tier I. Every candidate in Tier II will have to show up for each of the three portions.
