Eligibility criteria

For Candidates of General (UR)/General-EWS: Born on or before December 31, 2007
For Candidates of SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD Category: Born on or before December 31, 2007

Application Process
NEET 2024 registration commenced on February 9, 2024, and will continue until March 9, 2024. Aspiring candidates must complete their registration within this period to avoid any last-minute hassles.

Procedure for Admit Card Issues:
If a candidate encounters any difficulty in downloading their admit card from the NTA website, they should follow these steps:
- Approach the Help Line: Candidates can reach out to the NEET Help Line between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm for assistance.
- Contact NTA via email: Alternatively, candidates can write an email to NTA at neet@nta.ac.in explaining their issue.

Exam Centers
EXAMINATION CENTRE REGULATIONS:
- Prohibited Items: Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying certain items into the examination center, including textual material, communication devices, ornaments, metallic items, food items, and any objects that could be used for unfair means.
- No Arrangement for Item Storage: The examination centers do not provide arrangements for storing candidates’ belongings. Therefore, candidates should refrain from carrying prohibited items to the center.
- Dress Code Compliance: Candidates wearing articles or objects of faith (customary/cultural/religious) are advised to report to the examination center at least two hours before the last reporting time to facilitate proper frisking. However, if any suspected device is discovered within such an item of faith, the candidate may be asked not to take it into the examination hall.
Dress Code Guidelines:
Adherence to the prescribed dress code is mandatory for all candidates appearing for NEET 2024:

- Clothing: Candidates are advised not to wear heavy clothes or long sleeves. Cultural/customary dresses are permitted, but candidates should report at least an hour before the last reporting time for proper frisking.
- Footwear: Slippers or sandals with low heels are allowed, while shoes are not permitted inside the examination center.
- Deviation from Dress Code: Any deviation from the prescribed dress code due to unavoidable circumstances requires specific approval from the NTA before the issuance of admit cards.

- Physics: 35 questions in Section A (140 marks) and 15 questions in Section B (40 marks)
- Chemistry: 35 questions in Section A (140 marks) and 15 questions in Section B (40 marks)
- Botany: 35 questions in Section A (140 marks) and 15 questions in Section B (40 marks)
- Zoology: 35 questions in Section A (140 marks) and 15 questions in Section B (40 marks)
- Total Marks: 720
- +4 marks for the correct answer and -1 for the wrong answer
