Bihar CHO Eligibilty Criteria
B.Sc. in Nursing:
Having completed the six-month integrated curriculum for a Certificate in Community Health (CCH) from an institution or university approved by the State Nursing Council or the Indian Nursing Council.
OR
Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing:
Having completed the integrated six-month Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH) at a university or institute accredited by the State Nursing Council or the Indian Nursing Council.
Students who completed their second-year post-B.Sc. Nursing and fourth-year B.Sc. Nursing in 2019–2020 or later are eligible

Minimum Age:
21 years
Maximum Age:
- Un-Reserved & EWS: 42 years
- UnReserved (F) & EWS (F): 45 years
- BC & EBC: 45 years
- SC/ST: 47 years
CHO Selection Procedure
- The final decision will be made based on the reservation roster’s availability of openings and the scores received in the computer-based test (CBT).
- Minimum qualifying marks in CBT will be an overall 30%.
- Candidates qualifying for the CBT test will be called in the ratio of 1:2 for document verification (DV) based on the marks obtained in the CBT and the availability of vacancies as per the reservation roster.
Documents Required for CHO during verification
- (i) Date of Birth (Matriculation Certificate)
- (ii) Mark sheets and certificates of essential qualification
- (iii) Two recent passport-size color photographs
- (iv) Photo identity proof (AADHAR, Driving license, passport, Voter ID Card)
- (v) Signed & duly completed format for “Certification from Principal for Applying for CHO”
- (vi) Candidates applying under the reserved category must possess their caste certificate, residency certificate, income certificate, non-creamy layer certificate, disability certificate, etc., as applicable, issued by the competent authority at the time of application. The same has to be produced during the verification of documents to establish their claim.
- (vii) Reservation benefits will be admissible only to candidates who are permanent residents/domiciles of Bihar.
- (viii) In the case of a candidate claiming reservation under the EWS category, a valid document/certificate enumerated in the General Administration Department notification number 2622 dated February 26, 2019, and Letter No. 12123 dated June 23, 2023, must be produced.
